| The Feast of the Assumption of B.V.M. is a Solemnity and a day of Obligation and our National Independence Day. On this day all the Parish Priests are reminded to offer Missa Pro Populo as on every Sunday. Let us celebrate this twin Feast in a meaningful way in all the Parishes and Institutions to increase our devotion to our Blessed Mother and to Motherland. |

| 3. The New Parish of Pallipalayam |
The New Parish of Pallipalayam was erected on 01-07-2008 by the Bishop of Salem. The new parish covers the entire area on the
west of the Salem-Erode Eastern Railway track. It includes Alalampalayam, Alamedu, Kaveri R.S., Vasanthanagar, Pallipalayam, E.Kattur, Agraharam and Vediyarasampalayam & Kaliyanur. The new parish of Pallipalayam, bifurgated from SPB Colony Parish, has 170 Catholic families. Its address is

| 4. The Students of ICHEC, School of Buisness, Belgium, |
| The students of ICHEC, School of Buisness, Belgium, have constructed 9 houses at Naranampalayam Pudur (Jayarakkini Nagar) and 9 houses at Karaikurichi Pudur (Kosavampatti) for the poor people. We thank the students, the Management of ICHEC and specially Mr. Matthieu and his Collaborators. Hearty Congratulations to Rev. Frs. A. X. Irudayam and M. | Rev. Fr. John Melkies, the Sub-editor of Nam Vazhvu Weekly is residing at Bishop’s House, Salem, from July 2008. He will go to the dioceses of Salem, Coimbatore, Ooty and Dharmapuri for propagating Nam Vazhvu magazine among the Catholics. All may extend your cooperation and support in his work. |
| 11. Constituting Seminarians Fund |
| Constituting Seminarians Fund for Salem diocese was decided on 7th July during the Clergy Monthly Meeting. Bishop was asked to send a circular to all the Parishes and Institution instructing the Catholics on their duty to contribute for the Formation of Future Priests. Local Benefactors will be enlisted to contribute to this Fund. However the names of the students will not be assigned to the local benefactors to avoid future difficulties. |
| On August 4th the Church Celebrates the Feast of St. John Maria Vianney, the patron of Parish Priests. The Cure d’Ars remains a model to be imitated for all diocesan priests.
